Trauma insurance pays a lump sum benefit upon the insured person being diagnosed with a specific trauma event. Cover is 24 hours, anywhere in the world. Benefits can be automatically indexed in line with inflation. The number of insured events available under a policy can vary, with the maximum available being around 34. Examples of the events covered are:
- Cancer
- Heart Attack and Heart Surgery
- Stroke
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Chronic Kidney Failure
- Motor Neurone Disease
- Loss of Limbs and/or Sight
- Severe Burns
Death cover can also be included as an option. Trauma cover is widely used to protect against large unexpected medical costs, contribute to the mortgage whilst recovering, and the loss of income that would be attributed to one of these events.
